Class ACT

We are Class ACT--Amy Alvord, Christine Monson, and Tim Isom.  We love singing and sharing the power of music to uplift, heal hearts, and teach. 

"Have voice, will sing," we have been heard to say (or as Tim likes to say, "As long as there is oxygen, we will sing!) We have been singing together since 2013, after coming in contact again and wanting to have a reason and opportunity to sing again, having lived together in the same neighborhood in Sunset, Utah, fifteen years before. 

Since then, we have shared many programs of music several times a year, from community and church events to senior centers and even the Utah State Prison.  We love sharing our music and the lessons we have learned through our favorite songs, and would love to come share with you!

Meet the members of Class ACT below! 

Amy Alvord is the "A" in Class ACT!  She grew up in Sunset, Utah, singing from the time she was very young.  In high school, she added acting to her loves, performing the roles of Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady and Adelaide in Guys and Dolls.  She went on to Weber State University performing with Weber State Singers, Chamber Choir, and Concert Choir and graduated in 2000. 

Amy is married to her wonderful sweetheart Jake and has three beautiful daughters.  She continues to act and perform in musicals when she can, and loves performing with her sister Chris and "cousin" Tim.  When she's not  busy with any of these things, she can be found on a volleyball court, playing in the dirt, or teaching voice and dance. 

Christine Monson is the "C" in Class ACT, the pianist/arranger for the group.  Christine improvises, arranges, and writes much of her own music, including many of the arrangements heard on Class ACT's CD, "Opening Act."  Many of her arrangements, songs, and musical works are found at her website, ChristineMonsonMusic.com, with more coming all of the time, including the CDs "We Sing of Christ" and "In His Hands," which will be available Christmas 2018 and which will include hymns and songs sung by Amy Alvord, her sister and fellow member of Class ACT. 

Christine grew up in Sunset, Utah, the oldest in a very musical family.  She received her bachelor's degree in piano from Weber State University, serving for 2 years as the accompanist for Weber State Singers under the direction of Evelyn Harris, and later did graduate work in Musicology at BYU. 

She continues to work as a piano teacher and professional accompanist in Bountiful, Utah, in the spare moments she has as a wife to David and mother to her 5 children. 

Timothy Isom is the "T" in Class AC!  He has a penetratingly beautiful and versatile voice that has delighted listeners all over northern Utah.  He has sung in many groups, and currently sings with the Lars Yorgason Singers.  From Ogden, Utah, Tim is married to the beautiful and supportive Jill and they are the parents of 4 children.  He enjoys being involved in his church and community, having served in the U.S. Navy, as mayor of Sunset, Utah, and as a junior high track coach.
